Eight year old Sona Kaur is an orphan in India. Her mother died during childbirth and her father passed away two months prior. She lives with her grandmother Veer who is now the sole provider for Sona. They are field laborers which means that Sona misses a lot of school. Her arms are scratched by the thorns of cotton plants. Even with their labor they are still having a hard time making ends meet and often do not have enough money for food.
Thanks to Strong Women, Strong World, World Vision is bringing hope and education to girls like Sona.
