We are excited to introduce a new project to our Maternal and Child Health initiative: Child Health Now – Advocating for Child and Maternal Health.
The Child Health Now Project is World Vision’s multi-country, strategic effort to harness the power and influence of advocacy, for the purpose of improving child and maternal health.
The project comes alongside impoverished, vulnerable, isolated, voiceless people, empowering them to advocate for their needs as they strive to improve their lives and the lives of their children. In addition, the Child Health Now Project serves to directly advocate for people and communities who are not yet able to do so for themselves.
The Child Health Now Project places advocacy at the forefront, advocating for the special health needs of expectant mothers and children younger than 5—a steadfast effort to decrease malnutrition, illness, and death rates.
The project engages at the local, national, and international levels in multidimensional ways, including organizing public awareness events, recommending policy changes, leveraging the power of coalitions, and engaging in media outreach, to name a few.
