The Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act could be on the President’s desk in the next 48 hours!
If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Congress, it’s that when things start to move, they really move! Advocates from around the country haven’t stopped calling the House of Representatives since the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act ( TVPRA) passed the Senate three weeks ago. Your voices are working!
Today and tomorrow the House of Representatives will be considering the Violence Against Women Act. When the Violence Against Women Act passed the Senate on February 12th it included the TVPRA as an amendment. A bipartisan group of Representatives introduced the Senate version of the Violence Against Women Act. There are now two versions of the bill in the House – one with the TVPRA and one without it. In the next day there will be a vote on both versions.
