Chances are, you have used a toilet today. Odds are that you did not stop and celebrate after you did, but maybe you should. Today is World Toilet Day.
A toilet can mean a decrease in disease, increased education for girls and greater development opportunities for a community. The United Nations has recognized sanitation as a human right. 2.5 billion people have inadequate sanitation and it is estimated that 88% of the 2 million annual deaths attributed to diarrheal disease could be prevented with access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities.
Tell someone today that you celebrated when you flushed and why everyone deserves the right to do the same.
